Vinyl made more money than every free on-demand streaming service in 2015

Vinyl sales generated more money than all free on-demand streaming services combined in 2015, with $422 million in revenue last year based on 17 million copies sold, according to a new report from the RIAA.
Ad-based streaming services, such as YouTube, VEVO, Spotify’s free tier, and SoundCloud generated a total of just $385 million in 2015, despite logging play counts in the hundreds of billions.
